Materials For a Pair of Beaded Circle Earrings.
- Nylon beading thread color red (conditioned with beeswax).
- Beading needles #12.
- Scissors.
- 30mm Gold-Plated, Cooper-Plated or Steel, Double-Sided Hammered Open Round, 2 rings.
- 10mm round, red coral bead or any other material bead, 2 beads.
- Japanese Cylinder, Delica Seed Beads
approx. 0,5g size 11o B – Opaque brick red (DB0654).
approx. 0,5g size 11o C – Opaque vermillion red (DB0727).
- Rocailles Seed Beads
approx. 1g size 15o E – Opaque red (RR408).
- Ear-wire, sterling silver 18mm fishhook with open loop.
Step-by-step instruction
Beaded Circle Earrings
Step (1) On 2yd. of conditioned thread pick up seventy-two Delicas (changing between one 11o A and one 11o B bead) and form a ring in the middle of thread (photo a-1).
Step (2) Working in peyote stitch, exiting one 11o A pick up a 15o D, and sew through the next 11o A (photo a-2). Repeat around the ring for a total of thirty-six stitches and step up.
Step (3) Work two rounds with 15o D s, of tubular-peyote stitch around the ring and step up (photo a-3).
Step (4) Pick up the thread at the other end of the beadwork an existing one edge 11o B bead work one round with 11o Cs of tubular-peyote stitch around the ring and step up (photo a-4).
Step (5) Exiting 11o C bead work one round with 11o B s of tubular-peyote stitch around the ring and step up (photo a-5).
Step (6) Exiting 11o B bead work one round with 11o A s of tubular-peyote stitch around the ring and step up (photo a-6).
Step (7) Next pick up 30mm open round component, and put on the beadwork, and holding the ring on the beadwork (photo a-7) work one round with 15o D s pulling tight so that the beadwork begins to come up around the ring (photo a-8).
Step (8) Work two rounds with 15o D s, of tubular-peyote stitch around the ring and step up (photo a-9).
Step (9) Start to decrease the width of a piece and work one round with 15o D s skipping fifth space without adding a bead, repeat around the ring (you will have a total of 29 beads around the ring), (photo a-10). Pull the thread firmly to narrow the gap between beads.
Step (10) On the following round work a single 15o D bead above the decrease (you will have a total of 29 beads around the ring), (photo a-11).
Step (11) Work two rounds with 15oD s of peyote and step up (photo a-12).
Step (12) Start to decrease the width of a piece and work one round with 15o D s skipping third space without adding a bead, repeat around the ring (you will have a total of 19 beads around the ring), (photo a-13). Pull the thread firmly to narrow the gap between beads.
Step (13) Work two rounds of peyote with 15o Ds (photo a-14,15).
Step (14) Next string one 10mm round coral bead and exit through the nineth opposite 15o D bead, weave the thread through the couple beads, sew the needle through the next tenth 15o D bead, sew the needle back through the 10mm coral bead and exit through the opposite 15o D bead at the other side (photo a-16).
Step (15) Then weave the thread through the beads to the one edge 11o C bead. Work one round of peyote around the beaded circle edge with 11o Cs (photo a-17).
Step (16) Next exiting one edge 11o C bead string one 15oE bead, ear-wire, one 15o E bead and sew through the next 11o C bead (photo a-18).
Step (17) Weave the thread through the beadwork and exit through the opposite 11o B bead (opposite to 11o C bead where you added the ear-wire) at the back side of the earring. Then string two 15oD beads, sew the needle through the ear-wire, string two 15o D beads and exit through the next 11o B bead (photo a-19). Secure the thread tales in the beadwork with a few half-hitch knots and trim. Make the second earring.

Wonderful DIY ways to transform your old jeans.
For some time, l had this awesome idea to make fun and artsy shorts from my old jeans. Finally, I did it! I had these oversized and slouchy jeans which were perfect for this project.
First, measure, mark, and cut one leg. Then folding in half and matching out seams from waistband down, mark and cut the second leg.
Second, distress your shorts and wash.
Third, have fun embroidering, patching & mending if you wish…
I used the matte finish glass seed beads, tiny rubber rings and embroidery cotton thread to embellish my shorts.
The basic Sachiko stitch was perfect for adding some texture to the jeans.
For the edging I used the blanket and satin stitches.
The gorgeous and tiny mate glass seed beads added the fun and artsy feeling to the jean shorts.

I would like to show you how to bring out the beauty of your beachcombing finds and turn them into stunning masterpieces of wearable adornments.
Over the years on my beach walks I have acquired a large collection of jewelry quality sea glass, driftwood, and shells. The sea glass gems I choose for my beachcomber necklaces must be already nicely shaped and free of any obvious flaws. Most important I don’t need to cut, shape, or alter the sea glass, the sea, sand and waves do the job.
When I have the idea for the necklace, I just go through all my sea glass collection and look for the shapes and color I need for my adornment. Sometimes it takes a long time to decide which pieces will go to my design…
Once that decision is made, the fun part of designing sea glass jewelry begins. When it comes to planning and creating, a lot of times it’s simply intuition …
My technique for making the beaded bezels and connecting the separate pieces are the even and add-count peyote, brick, and tubular peyote stitches. These are the very simple and easy bead weaving technique stitches.

I really love working with tiny Japanese glass seed beads and natural gemstone beads. I love the texture that tiny beads create. There are many different finishes, colors and shapes of glass seed beads, just by combining them in different color combinations makes each piece one of a kind.
I like to use the matte finished beads for the sea glass pieces. It just compliments so beautiful the frosted sea glass texture. And I use the gold finished beads as an accent. There is something about the look of frosted glass and the gleam of gold as well as the way it showcases the common light blue, green and translucent whites.
After choosing the couple main elements for the necklace and playing with them around little bit. I decide what kind of shape my necklace will be: simple pendant hanging from the leather cord, the choker style or a long-beaded necklace.

Symbolism in Children’s artwork: A process of psychological transformation
Today I want to talk about the symbolism in children’s artwork. Symbolism can in fact be a way to extract the inner workings of the psyche and find out more about yourself, and in so doing, to help you evolve as an artist.
I’m sharing with you the amazing masterpiece by my niece Meda (she is almost 12 years old).
I just think that the painting is brilliant!!! There is lots of symbolism in it, and a strong expression of emotions. I love the style of it, beautiful colors and simple, clear composition.
When I got it as an early gift for Christmas, at first, I was so excited to see that she is experimenting with new painting techniques, it’s not the drawing on the paper anymore but now it’s an acrylic painting on canvas. Then I got a little bit emotional because I saw the tears in her eyes.
But then I started noticing the details…the eyes are wide open (she is conscious and aware of everything) and painted in orange (orange is the color of enthusiasm, emotion and strength; it symbolizes adventure and social communication).
Right away I noticed the presence of the duality: the portrait is divided in blue (sky, male, rational, consciousness) and red (earth, female, subconscious, instincts). The face is divided in pink and yellow (right and left sides of the brain). All the action is going on in the head…
And then I see the stark black background…which I think symbolizes the loss of “paradise” – the simple freedom where all energy is good energy. Where there’s no duality, just perfection, wholesomeness, it’s the time before the birth of the ego.
This painting is the perfect illustration how the human consciousness is growing and evolving.
We are all humans going through the same cosmic cycles:
At the beginning, we get the taste of the paradise (uroboric state of preconsciousness), then we are thrown out of it and are aware of good and evil (growth of the ego, duality). Then comes the confrontation and manipulation of the evil (psychological transformation, development of personality), next the death of the ego and rebirth…and finally the restoration of the wholesomeness and balance. We humans have to be compassionate for each other, simply because we are all going through the same stuff.
I think it’s very important to experience and be conscious about every emotion, good or bad, and try not to suppress it…
There is one more detail I want to mention, blue heart above her head. I think it symbolizes hope, she knows that in all the darkness there is love, light and peace.
I will finish this with the quote by Dolly Parton “If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain!”

How to make sea glass jewelry with glass seed beads.
Sea glass is a glass pieces from the broken bottles and jars that had been worn smooth by the tumbling action of the sea waves against the shore. Ocean weaves drags the pieces of glass across the sand and stones, smoothing it and shaping in different shapes, creating frosted and worn surfaces.
Sea glass is so pretty that it deserves to be adorned. Use your most precious founded sea glass pieces to make a unique necklaces, earrings and bracelets.
There are many ways to make sea glass jewelry. Most common are:
I like to incorporate in sea glass necklaces sea shells and drift wood pieces. Tu create this mixed necklace you will have to learn basic peyote stitch, circular and tubular peyote stitches.

- Wire wrapping. You would need 20gauge sterling silver, copper or gold-plated wire.
- Drilling. You would need Dremel drill and drilling press.
- Bezeling requires more training than drilling or wrapping sea glass.
I like to incorporate in sea glass necklaces sea shells and drift wood pieces. Tu create this mixed necklace you will have to learn basic peyote stitch, circular and tubular peyote stitches.
The supplies I usually use for my sea glass jewelry:
- Sea glass, beach stones
- Driftwood
- Sea shell
Some shells already have holes for stringing.
- Natural Feathers
- Leather
- Cotton Cord
- Cotton thread
- Nylon beading thread (conditioned with beeswax).
- Needles #12, #12 sharps
- Scissors
- E-6000 glue
- Delica Glass Seed Beads
- Rocailles seed beads
- Beading foundation
- Usually I start by playing with different shapes of drift wood, beach stones, sea glass pieces till I create the desirable composition.
- Then I glue the chosen pieces to beading foundation: Put a dab of E-6000 glue on beading foundation, and then glue the material to the back (or around) of the piece of sea glass (beach stone, shell or driftwood).
- Set the sea glass (beach stone, shell or driftwood) aside and left the glue dry and cure for at least 4 hours (best would be 24 hours).
- Tie an overhand knot at the end of 2yd. (1.8m) of conditioned thread. Using a # 12 sharps needle, sew through the beading foundation fabric from back to front, next to the stone edge.
- Pick up six Delica Japanese seed beads and position them along the stone’s edge. Sew through the last three beads (figure 1). Continue working in beaded backstitch around the edge of the cab, adding an even number of beads (photo c).
- Using a regular beading needle and Delica seed beads, work in tubular, even-count peyote stitch around the ring. Changing seed bead colors for each round, continue adding rounds of peyote until the top edge of the cab is covered (photo d, e).
- Then I create a bail for pendant: usually I cut desirable piece of natural leather. Then I create gorgeous print/pattern from tiny glass seed beads.
- For necklace strap I use cotton cord and make an adjustable, sliding clasp.
I love combining natural materials in to one big and complicated piece of jewelry.

Beach-combing is a wonderful way to spend your free time by the water and a great way to get to know and explore your favorite Cape Cod beaches. On my trips to the shore I collect smooth and frosty gems – sea glass that later will be woven into beautiful Cape Cod-inspired Necklaces.

Beaded Bezel Pendant Tutorial with Hand Painted Honey Bee Glass Cabochon, Leather and Glass Seed Beads
Free Necklace Tutorial. For this beaded bezel pendant tutorial, you will need: Hand painted honey bee glass cabochon, black leather, black ultra-suede, nylon thread, #11 delica seed beads, #15 rocailles, #11 rocailles, Lacy’s stiff stuff beading foundation fabric, beading needles #12 and #12 sharps, Scissors, black cotton cord, E6000 Adhesive.
Honey Bee Hand Painted Cabochons for sale!
(1) First separate the Lacy’s Stiff Stuff Beading Foundation fabric in to a very thin layers, cut a piece of fabric that is approximately (3mm) larger than the cabochon. Glue it to cabochon. If you are using E6000, allow time for the glue to dry.
(2) Tie an overhand knot at the end of 2yd. (1.8m) of conditioned thread. Using a # 12 needle, sew through the beading foundation fabric from back to front, next to the cab’s edge.
(3) Pick up six 11o black color Japanese seed beads, and position them along the cab’s edge. Sew through the last three beads. Continue working in beaded backstitch around the edge of the cab, adding an even number of beads.
(4) Using a regular beading needle and 11o beads, work in tubular, even-count peyote stitch around the ring. Changing seed bead colors, continue adding rounds of peyote until the top edge of the cab is covered.
(5) Then work a round of peyote using 15o (rocailles) dark gold color seed beads, black, and gold plated rocailles to curve the beadwork inward so it’s snug around the dome of the cab.
(6) Weave through the bezel to the backstitched round, sew through the sheet between two beads, and tie a knot. Don’t trim the thread.
(7) Glue the Ultrasuede to the back of the cabochon. Trim two layers of fabrics near to the edge of cabochon, be careful don’t cut the thread. Sew through to the new back of the pendant near the edge, and whip stitch (using sharps seedle) the edges together. Don’t trim the thread.
(8) Using sharps needle, sew back through the fabrics and the backstitched round one of the lower beads. Using the pumpkin color delica 11o Japanese seed beads continue adding rounds of peyote.
(9) Work a two - three rounds of peyote using black color 15o rocailles, to curve the beadwork outward so it’s snug around the back of the cab. Secure the thread in the beadwork with a few half-hitch knots between beads, and trim.
(10) Add the thread to the beadwork, and exit from the beaded backstitch one of the lower beads. Pick up one black color 11o rocaille and work one round in tubular, even-count peyote stitch around the beaded cab.
Embellished Leather Bail
Step 1: Cut the leather into 2”x 0,5” strip.
Step 2: Work in flat, even-count peyote stitch to make a strip that is eight beads wide and forty-three or more rows tall.
Step 3: Wrap finished strip around the leather, zip up the first and last rows together.
Step 4: Pick up the working thread and weave through the beadwork to the middle of the bail. Then sew through the beadwork, and leather (with #12 sharp beading needle) to the other side, exit through two beads, weave through the beadwork, secure the thread with half-hitch-knot do not cut the thread.
Step 5: Attach the bail to beaded bezel: exit the one edge bead of bail, pick up one 15o dark gold bead, and sew through one beaded bezel black color 11o rocaille, then pick up one dark gold bead and sew through next edge black bead of bail. Repeat around the bail. Secure the thread with half-hitch-knot and cut the thread.

Making Jewelry from Sea Glass with Interesting Materials: Seed Beads, Leather, Cotton Tassels, Driftwood, Feathers and Cotton Cord
Many sea glass collectors simply choose to keep their treasures in jars, while others enjoy giving pieces to friends or relatives. I collect these frosted gems for my jewelry making projects and crafts. I love combining sea glass with tiny glass seed beads, leather, driftwood, shells, and feathers to form a beachy style Jewelry.
Making Jewelry From Sea Glass, Tutorial by Ezartesa.
What I love about the sea glass? There is no two identical pieces of sea glass. Every shape is unique and exiting! When I look for the quality pieces of sea glass for me is very important smoothness, absence of chips, shape and size. If I find a piece that’s still has a sharp edges or is not opaque, I just let it stay on the beach for more rolling.
When I designing a piece of jewelry, I always start with the color combinations, shape and size of the sea glass. Then I decide what seed bead color palette will be, or what patter I need to create to enhance the beauty of sea glass.
I like using a natural leather for my jewelry base. Usually wider and longer leather strip is cut for the centerpiece, and two or four smaller pieces arranged around it.
Beaded Cotton Tassel Necklace Tutorial by Ezartesa
Seed bead TUTORIAL: My favorite sea glass jewelry designs have incorporated handmade tassels, which are not difficult to make.
Step 1: Cut a winding board from heavy card stock, or cardboard; for the big tassel 6cm cardboard, for two small 4,5cm.
Step 2: Wind thread around board in loops until you reach desired fullness (as you work, you can change thread colors)
Step 3: Tie 5-inch thread into a tight knot around top of looped thread.
Step 4: Cut through looped ends (take it off board), and adjust it into tassel shape
Step 5: Cut a 12-inch length of thread to wrap tassel neck: Fashion 1 end of thread into a loop shape, then lay loop on tassel. Grasp the other end, and wrap it tightly around tassel and over the top of the loop to secure it. Wrap slowly, working from the top of the neck down, so neck threads lie evenly next to one another. As you wrap, ensure all the threads in the head and skirt are neatly in place. After wrapping neck, pass end of thread through loop and gently close loop, tucking ends into the head of the tassel. Trim tassel ends, a few threads at a time, to even them if necessary. On top of the tassel, cut the thread tales of too.
Step 6: Wash the tassels with shampoo, brush and dry.
I like to use natural feathers for my sea glass necklaces. I usually glue the feather to the middle of leather strip, and fold the other end of leather on top of feather. Then I work in flat, odd-count peyote stitch to make a strip form glass seed beads to put it on top of leather.

For my hand beaded one-of-a-kind sea glass necklace I use my hand painted original evil eye painted cabochons. I use an acrylic paint and natural bone hand cut cabochons.

Combing the beaches there in Cape Cod has become one of my most favorite things to do. For a long time, I was collecting completely flawless and beautifully shaped pieces of sea glass, beach stones, driftwood, and feathers. Creative Process of Beach Comber Collection 2016.
In this Beachcomber collection I decided to use a warm brown color objects with cool blues, sea greens, and blacks with strong greens. These combinations give to my jewelry the soothing calm feeling of the seashore.
The style of this collection is casual, and artsy chic: a sleek, very well made pendants dangling from a woven cotton cord. I use natural leather as a base, and embellish it with tiny glass seed beads. Combination of leather and beadwork gives a rich texture to my one-of-a-kind hand beaded jewelry.
